SUMMARY

OBJECTIVES

By the end of the workshop, you will have a solid grasp on the ways that the 39 processes fit together. You will have a suggested layout for three "brain dump" pages you will want to create as soon as you enter the testing area, including formulas and charts. You will have the highlights from PMI reference books at your fingertips in one comprehensive source. (Must of the exam includes information not specifically contained in PMBOK®.) Primarily, you will have the confidence that, after a little more studying, you will be able to pass the PMP exam.

COURSE OUTLINE: 2-DAY WORKSHOP

I. Assessment of your current knowledge in order to focus your study time
   A. Inventory of your strengths compared to exam topics
   B. 240 sample questions
   C. List of key concepts

II. Crash course on the primary principles
   A. PMI
® philosophies and exam priorities to help you identify the best answer
   B. Study pages that go beyond PMBOK
® to show you where inputs originate and outputs are used
   C. Workbook illustrations and class demonstrations of major concepts, including:

    - Work breakdown structures
    - Monte Carlo simulations and statistical distributions
    - Control charts and other quality tools
    - Motivation theories and a responsibility assignment matrix
    - Conflict management approaches and types of power
    - Contract types and negotiation strategies

III. Exercises that reinforce learning and memorization
   A. Games and activities that assist comprehension
   B. Chart and methods for memorizing the 39 processes and their major outputs
        (Several participants who have taken the exam have said this chart, customized by Innovators, was the key to their success!)
   C. Exercises for the most important tools, including:

    - Earned value analysis
    - Network diagrams, including late start and late finish
    - PERT calculations
    - Crash tables
    - Present value calculations
    - Decision trees
